Medical Students and Physician Associate Diploma Students thanked
The Medical Education Team would like to give all those involved in supporting the Medical Students and Physician Associate Diploma Students on placement cross site a huge thank you. A large amount of work is done which needs to be recognised and is highly valued, both behind the scenes and clinically. The delivery of teaching is often multi-disciplinary, and also includes all grades of doctor. The feedback in 2016-2017 has been very good and improved from an already high standard for MBChB years 3 to 5. The PA programme was instigated this academic year and attained outstanding ratings throughout all rotations.
Comments such as: “Staff are friendly and enthusiastic to teach and answer any questions. The placement is organised and varied providing plenty of opportunity to see different things. The staff are approachable and willing to teach students sharing their knowledge and expertise.”
Our medical director David Birkenhead, pictured seated, and colleagues including Martin De Bono, Sal Uka, Ashwin Verma and Sarah Hoye all delivered presentations.
Sarah, our trust Lead for both Medical Students and Physician Associates, said “I frequently hear that CHFT is really supportive of placements, engaged with teaching and performing well with feedback. Our reputation is built on the individuals and teams' efforts throughout the year and the great response we receive from Leeds University needs to be acknowledged.
"A massive thanks to all – whether it is a welcoming smile delivered when a student walks onto a ward, or an explanation about a prescription or a bedside teaching session to name but a few examples. All are just as important as each other – keep up the great work!”
