"I'll killl 'em!" laughed Jean Boyle when Comms contacted her about her retirement from  HRI's Ward 12 last Friday.

But she loves her colleagues really and when Jean, second left in pale blue, second row, retired there was a massive rush to join her on her final photo.

Colleagues presented her with  cake and flowers and a host of gifts.

About retiring and leaving the ward where she has worked on for 14 years, Jean said: " I am sad... but at the same time looking forward to it. But I will miss everybody. I have really enjoyed  everything about my work on here. I enjoy the kind of work I do and everyone I work with."

Her husband has also retired and she plans to spend her time on her hobbies of community work in her village of Flockton and knitting, sewing and crosswords as well as looking after her four grandchildren.

Matron Chris Lord-Tyrer, second row left, said: " Jean has been in the trust for over 19 years. She is the longest serving member of staff who has left ward 12 in my time and  she will be sadly missed by both patients and staff. I wish her all the luck and happiness in the world for her retirement."
