Our former speech therapy patient Zain Ghani met up with  King's Speech star Colin Firth  when the actor was the star guest at the Action for Stammering Children charity board.

Zain is now on the youth panel supporting younger people who stammer and is planning on some volunatry work with us this summer. His therapist Teresa Howarth contacted him and asked if he could help a current student at Huddersfield University.  Read about it here....http://blog.stammeringcentre.org/?p=290

Colin Firth played King George VI in the film, which won an Oscar for best picture. He attended the event along with former chancellor Ed Balls. Last year Zain met Ed Balls at the height of his Strictly career and in his recent biography Ed told how he had lived with a stammer and spoken openly about the challenges of coping with it in public life.

Zain's therapist Teresa Howarth, said: "Zain is an inspiration to people who stammer. No matter how hard it might be he never lets it stop him from saying what he wants when he wants."
