Our nursing recruitment team in fresh back from a successful recruitment drive in the Philippines.

They hosted a mammoth interviewing session in Manila seeing 170 candidates over four days - and some of the successful candidates likely to join us as early as June.

Head nurse for professional and workforce development Michelle Bamforth (pictured with some of the succesful candidates and below) said: "The whole experience was a great success. We worked with an agency called HCL who are specialists in nursing recruitment. The agency paid for our team to go over to Manila for the recruitment drive".

Around 75 nurses will hopefully join us over the coming months.

Michelle added: "As many are already compliant with Nursing and Midwifery Council regulations we will be seeing them again soon. The candidates were really knowledgable with lots of acute, current experience and they are excited to join the team here at CHFT".

The team that travelled to Manila were:

  • Amanda McGrath (Specialist recruitment support worker)
  • Rachael Pierce ( Resourcing manager)
  • Michelle Bamforth ( Head nurse for professional & workforce development)
  • Claire Alletson ( Ward manager ward 20)
  • Renee Comerford ( Senior Clinical Educator & Associate Nurse Consultant)
