Do you want to stand for election to one of the vacancies for Staff Membership Councillors on our Membership Council (MC)?
Do you want to use your experience as a staff member to help make improvements for patients and be given the chance to have your say to help senior managers in their decision making?
We have four vacancies this year – in the Nurses/Midwives group, the Ancilliary group (for support staff), the Doctors/Dentists group and the Admin/Clerical group – and elections will take place over June/July.
Being an MC is great for your personal development as you’ll get the chance to attend meetings with senior managers and development sessions covering topics that you might not come across in your everyday job, such as Finance, Quality and more! You don’t need any special skills or qualifications - just a healthy interest in improving patient care - to be an MC and you’ll undergo a full induction programme if elected.
If you think you might be interested in the role, why not have a chat with Vanessa Henderson, the Business Manager for the Membership Office, on HRI x7342 (HRI) She can give you more information or put you in touch with an existing Membership Councillor. Or e-mail her at membership@cht.nhs.uk.
If you do decide to give it a go, you’ll have until 5 pm on Friday 19 May to nominate yourself! Nomination forms will be available from Vanessa on April 20.
