Our consultants Neeraj Bhasin and Anver Mahomed were among clinical representatives from vascular teams across West Yorkshire and Harrogate who met  to develop a regional approach to delivering vascular services to get the best possible outcomes for our patients.

The event was arranged by the West Yorkshire Associate of Acute Trusts supported by the NHS Transformation Unit to try and design a model for Vascular Services for the future. It involved the trust management, vascular surgery, interventional radiology, and vascular specialist nursing teams from the West Yorkshire trusts.

Neeraj Bhasin, said: " It was hugely encouraging to see all the teams from different trusts collaborating to share ideas for a sustainable future-proof vascular service across West Yorkshire. All the teams worked together to try and describe a model that would provide a resilient high-quality vascular service across the whole region that is equitable to all patients and trusts."

NHS England has recently published some core standards in the delivery of vascular services and set out a national service specification which gives us the opportunity to collaborate and design a service  for our region.
