Right Care, Time, Place: the latest update
Councillors from our two local authorities have met jointly to decide on the next stages of the Right Care, Time, Place (RCTP) healthcare reconfiguration proposals.
The proposals – to reshape the way hospital and community care is delivered locally – were backed by our two CCG partners Calderdale CCG and Greater Huddersfield CCG in October last year.
Following this decision, and as part of the continuing process, councillors on the Joint Health Scrutiny Committee for Kirklees and Calderdale have the capability to refer the plans to Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt for review.
At their meeting last week, they decided to postpone this decision until July when our Full Business Case (FBC) is complete. The FBC will add more detail about the proposed future way forward which was endorsed in principle last year after a consultation period.
The work on the FBC is being led by Anna Basford Director of Transformation and Partnerships and Catherine Riley, Assistant Director of Strategic Planning, supported by our regulator NHS Improvement
Anna and Catherine have been meeting with clinical colleagues across the Trust to refine the model and the plans for reconfiguration
Anna Basford, Director of Transformation and Partnerships said: “ The full business case will provide more detail on how the services will be configured across the emergency care and planned care sites. It will also provide more information on the financial plans to support the changes. As part of the development of the full business case we have been talking to different clinical colleagues to make sure we get the model of services and the plans for reconfiguration right.”
