We know that milk goes off easily if it's not stored at the right temperature, and salad leaves can freeze if they are shoved to the back of the fridge - and our medicines are no different. They need to be stored correctly and at the right temperature to make sure they don't become ineffective.
If we don't do this it could basically mean patients have to stay with us for longer or need extra treatment.
So please:
- Read and record fridge temperature temperatures DAILY
- If the reading is outside of range (between 2 and 8 degrees centigrade) you MUST follow the guidance on the monitoring form
- Use the correct monitoring form - you can find it at the bottom of this article
- Don't overfill your fridge or accidentally let the boxes come into contact with the back of the fridge
