Heathcare assistant Adan Brown left us this week after 25 years in urology, the pain clinic and latterly the fracture clinic.

During her exit chat with CHFT Weekly she revealed she was christened Ada but added an "n" to her name when she was 16 as she liked it better! Attached is a photo with Mr Sethi. They are known as "work husband and wife" as they always work together.

Adan started her nursing training in 1972 but had to leave following an accident. After a time working in a kebab factory in Luddenden Village she returned and topped off 25 years' nursing with the Trust with a farewell gathering on orthopaedics level 1 at CRH.

She said: " I have enjoyed everywhere I worked. I started in urology, learned computer skills on the pain clinic  which was brilliant and the team on the  fracture clinic are very small and very close knit."

She will be caring for her brother who is disabled and has  60s pools winner "Viv Nicholson" style plans to make the most of her retirement. Her daughter and grandchildren live in Spain and she plans many visits out to Majorca to see them.

She said: " I plan to get fit, spend spend spend and enjoy myself!"

Her colleagues bought her £70 of Harvey's vouchers,  a silver bracelet,  a Next voucher, wine and flowers......and some scratch cards!

Nurse Karen Buckley, the photographer for these lovely photos, said: " We did say if she won big on the scratch cards not to forget her friends and collegues!"

Big thanks to Karen and all the best to Adan!
