How long have you been together and did you meet at work?

We have been together for 16yrs on 24th August 2017. We didn’t meet at work. Prior to becoming a nurse, I ran my own business and Rebecca was a customer in my DVD store. Groundhog Day and Cadbury’s buttons brought us together.

If you’re married who proposed and where?

In 2004 we travelled to Italy by train from Huddersfield to Rome.  Whilst in the open air restaurant at Camping Il Poggetto, overlooking the vineyard with the sun setting, I popped the question. We got married 2nd September 2007 at The Lakeside Hotel, Newby Bridge, Lake Windermere and our wedding cake was a Choccywoccydoodah. 

What did you both like most about each other?

Rebecca: “He gets me”

Andrew: “She laughs at my jokes”

Do you talk about work at home and do you ever say that’s enough!

Yes we do talk about work at home and Yes Rebecca tells me that’s enough!

If you see each other at work is it difficult?

It happens more often since the 2nd January because we are both on the same site and it’s a little embarrassing.

As it’s Valentine’s Day Week what do you love about your jobs?

Rebecca: I love the staff I work with because they make it easy for me.

Andrew: I’ve recently become the Lead nurse in the Emergency Department at CRH and, like Rebecca, I have to say I love the staff for the way they have welcomed me and the way they all work for each other. I also can’t not mention the team I left behind at HRI ED. They are a fabulous team and I absolutely loved the 6+ years I spent with them.
