Recognition of hard work with huge thanks to colleagues was the main theme running through the whole of the Big Brief this week, hosted by Director of Workforce and Development Ian Warren and Medical Director David Birkenhead.

Ian told colleagues they'd been working over and above under severe pressure, and that despite all the winter has to throw at us we're still managing to keep on track financially as well as improving things like our sickness absence rates. We've also had our first blue rating on one of our CQC actions - which means that we've taken action and that it is being constantly applied.

The Big Brief has moved days this year and has been shortened to 30 minutes following feedback from colleagues. The next session is on Tuesday 7 February at 8am in the Large Training Room at CRH and the old Lecture Theatre at HRI.
