Facilities Management Co-ordinator Joanne Lambert has scooped the top prize in the British Institute for Cleaning Sciences recognition regional awards.
The awards - for the north-east area- were staged in Doncaster where our Bed Team and domestic Kim Patterson were also shortlisted.
Assistant Facilities Manager, Mandy Taylor told CHFT: "All of them are winners in my eyes and I am extremely proud of all of them".
"I nominated Joanne for this award. Once upon a time Joanne sat in a corner and never voiced her opinion. 12 months on and she's a different person. She leads on all the training within cleaning services, and is also the lead assessor for BICs. And this is the first time that Joanne has done anything like this.
"She is very professional at all times, is eager to lead the cleaning services to an high standard and is always willing to try new working practices. She's also great at building up the confidence of colleagues, and shows excellent leadership skills. She will also ‘muck’ in when required and will become a domestic if required in a clinical area to ensure the patient has the best experience."
Joanne said "All finalists were invited onto the stage – the speaker went into great detail regarding the winners' role. I was oblivious until the speaker said Calderdale and Huddersfield Foundation Trust, and then I realised I had won".
