I would like to say a huge thank you to each of you that have been instrumental in going the extra mile in the implementation of the new beds and hybrid mattresses over the past few weeks. You have all made the project possible through giving up time over four weekends to come in and help with the implementation. I understand these days were long, physically tiring and involved and involved removing and cleaning existing equipment and cleaning and installing the new equipment. Over 6 days 760 mattresses and 160 bed frames have been installed for the benefit of our patients.

There has also been a monumental effort in the training of clinical staff which was carried out in partnership with the supplier, though the bulk of this was done by our equipment coordinators, and training will continue over the coming weeks and months to support nursing staff. This will ensure that staff are confident with the new equipment, that our patients benefit from an improved experience and we see a reduction in pressure ulcers within the Trust, along with a reduction in mattress hire costs to support the delivery of CIP.

Once again, thank you for your efforts and your on-going support with the project.
