The new Bishop of Huddersfield, Dr Rev Jonathon Gibbs, has visited the chaplaincy at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary to give thanks for their work.

Dr Gibbs was the Rector of Heswall in the Diocese of Chester for 17 years before coming to Huddersfield.

The new bishop of Huddersfield will be covering the local authority areas of Calderdale and Kirklees and is one of the five 'episcopal areas' of the new Diocese of West Yorkshire and the Dales created last Easter.

Dr Gibbs said: “I have worked for a parish for over 25 years, and they have always valued the emotional and spiritual support that the hospital chaplaincy offers, for patients and staff. It was a pleasure to meet the team at CHFT."
