HRI Ward 19 patients, Irene Farrand and Lorraine Eccles, shared their birthday year and discharge day with the NHS’s 75th.

The ward team were also celebrating, with personalised lookalike bunting. Ward Manager, Kate Broadhurst, is pictured, with hers. Resident artist and staff Nurse, Zoe Willows, provided the artwork. 

Irene, pictured with Healthcare Assistant, Violet Williams, said: “The staff are wonderful, especially lovely Val.”

Lorraine was born six months before the NHS in 1948. She said: “My Mum used to say we had to pay a lot of money for you. We had you six months too soon. I have loved the staff on here. They are brilliant!”
