It was a walk down memory lane for Chief Nurse, Lindsay Rudge, and Medical Director, David Birkenhead, on yesterday's CHFT Live.

Both shared memories from starting out on their NHS careers, with Lindsay saying: "I'm always proud to be a nurse". 

David qualified in 1988 and worked in Manchester, but joined us in 1999. He was the last doctor recruited before CRH merged with HRI. On CHFT Live he covered many of the treatments and improved outcomes for patients over the years, and talked of all our achievements, too.

Executive Director of Workforce and OD, Suzanne Dunkley, also shared an update on the national Workforce Plan. It's a 15 year plan which was released last week and sees an investment of £2.4 billion. The aim is to increase the number of training places by 64% in that time.
