The mortuaries at CRH and HRI have restricted access, which is limited to those colleagues who need it for their role.

Colleagues who have access must enter with another person, unless lone working has been approved by the mortuary manager, or they are dedicated to working in the mortuary alone.

Contractors are not allowed access to the mortuary at any time, unless accompanied and supervised by a mortuary attendant or by a member of staff with approved access.

This includes out of hours, when switchboard will contact the out of hours mortuary attendant, who will approve access or attend site before allowing a contractor access.

Removing access

When someone with access leaves CHFT/CHS/ISS/Equans or changes roles, resulting in them no longer requiring access, their ID badge must be collected at the time when access is no longer required.

Details of the exiting staff member should be sent immediately to the Security Supervisor or CHS Duty Manager at HRI or to Service Performance and Security at CRH to ensure access rights are revoked with immediate effect.

If a member of staff is off site and unable to / fails to, hand their badge back in, then the manager of the service where the staff member worked will still be required to contact the above departments immediately, to ensure access is revoked.
