With Infection Prevention and Control in the spotlight for us right now as we're seeing lots of norovirus and other illnesses, our Endoscopy teams are proud to have achieved 100% compliance in fit testing for two FFP3 masks.
Respiratory Protection Equipment Support Worker, Nicola Lear - right, was wowed after seeing the compliance in our reporting system KP+, saying: "Wow, wow, wow! I want to give a special shout-out to everyone in Endoscopy. Topping 100% compliance is just fantastic. Linda is a brilliant fit tester and has done a remarkable job ensuring colleagues book their appointments."
Teamwork between Endoscopy's Clinical Educator Linda Broomfield, Respiratory Protection Equipment Support Worker Nicola Lear, and Healthcare Assistant Jonathan Duckworth has been instrumental in the department’s success. They've been catching colleagues at every possible opportunity to get them to participate in their Fit Testing and Nicola has assisted several times at their audit days. There are 69 colleagues across both sites who all needed to be Fit Tested for two different types of FFP3 masks - so no mean feat!
Fit Testing needs repeating every two years and all colleagues need to be fit tested to two masks. Please make two separate appointments if you need Fit Testing for two masks. Availability is shown below. Please book here.
