Norovirus continues to circulate in our hospitals and as of this morning (Monday, 25th November), six wards were restricted due to outbreaks. Please help us by staying vigilant and following our Infection Prevention and Control guidance, as it spreads very easily.
- Do not come to work if you have any symptoms
- Do not come back to work until 48 hours after the symptoms have stopped
- Wash your hands frequently with soap and water to stop the spread - alcohol gel does not kill norovirus
- If you work in a communal space with shared computers or equipment, please wipe down before leaving the space
You can catch norovirus from:
- close contact with someone with norovirus
- touching surfaces or objects that have the virus on them, then touching your mouth
- eating food that's been prepared or handled by someone with norovirus
