Today sees the start of 16 Days of Action – the annual national campaign aimed at preventing violence against women and girls.

Deputy Head of Safeguarding, Stephanie Ingram, said: “We should encourage people to hold themselves accountable, so that we can make an impactful positive behaviour change and transform harmful cultures. Gender equality is key to making this culture change and is only achievable if we all understand and assume our responsibility as allies, and not as bystanders.

“My #ItStartsWithMe pledge is that I’ll continue to support colleagues to recognise and respond to abuse. Gender-based violence holds no place at CHFT.

“I’d love to hear your pledge, so do get in touch with me as an ally and supporter. You can email me on stephanie.ingram8@nhs.net
