Ward 10 have recently received a lovely donation from former patient, Brenda Briggs. She donated some homemade drain bags which our surgical breast patients can use to put their post operative drains in. This means they can be mobile around the ward post-operatively, which contributes to a better patient experience and supports enhanced recovery.

A few of the bags are being fabulously modelled in the photo by Ward Manager, Laura Hutchinson, and Discharge Co-ordinator, Dawn Moss.

Consultant Breast Surgeon and Clinical Director of General Surgery and Specialities, Alison Waterworth, said: "Such incredibly beautiful bags. They really help with recovery after surgery. Once their use for drains is over, I know patients appreciate them for other uses too!”

Macmillan Nurse in Breast Care, Joyce Graham, said: "Thank you so much to Brenda for all the time and effort that went into making these bags. It is appreciated by both patients and staff."

Dawn added: "Patients really appreciate these bags - and they make great peg bags too once they're recovered!"
