This coming Friday, 8th November, our colleagues from Resilience, Acute Flow and Transformation will be working alongside the Yorkshire Ambulance Service, West Yorkshire Police and West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue to hold a simulation exercise in the A&E Department at HRI.
The exercise, planned for the morning, aims to test and strengthen the multi-agency response of our emergency services in the event of a major incident in our region and is one of a number of exercises that regularly take place across West Yorkshire.
The teams will be practicing a decontamination scenario, so on the day colleagues may see several people outside the department dressed in hazmat suits and an increased number of emergency service vehicles.
The exercise presents no risk to the public or colleagues and will not impact on the front-line services of the emergency department or emergency services, which are open as normal.
