Our Patient Experience Team has been working with our two local authorities, patients, carers and Carers Count on the support we offer unpaid carers.
At the request of carers, we have moved away from using Keep Carers Caring as an overarching term. Our information has been refreshed and is now called Support for Unpaid Carers. It sits within the Experience of Care intranet pages, which are managed by the Quality directorate.
An unpaid carer is “anyone who cares, unpaid, for a friend or family member who due to illness, disability, a mental health problem or an addiction, and cannot cope without their support.”
You’ll find a refreshed page of information and links to a new Carers’ Charter, co-designed with the local authorities, on the Support for Unpaid Carers page.
