Our recent Vascular Study Day was so popular, the team are looking to organise another event in the autumn.

Miss Shirley Jia (vascular surgeon), and Vascular Nurse Specialists, Kate Humphries and Sharon Senior, wanted to thank everyone who attended, as well as the clinicians who gave up their Saturday to make this the success it was.

Kate said: "The aim of the event was to empower nurses through knowledge and promote vascular surgery in the arterial centre at Bradford, as an inviting and supportive place to work for nurses.

"We invited nurses from across both CHFT and Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The interest was so great that we had to increase the number of tickets from 50, to 60 and then to 80 - and we still had a waiting list!

"Everyone agreed that it was a brilliant day, with interesting and relevant lectures in the morning and interactive workshops in the afternoon. We even had an international delegate, Dr Wang, who is a vascular surgeon from China. He gave us a great insight into vascular surgery in China.

"The feedback was amazing, with some showing interest in visiting the vascular unit at Bradford, so there is going to be another event planned for autumn. Keep your eyes peeled to avoid disappointment!"
