This Thursday is World Mental Health Day and the focus this year is finding time to prioritise mental health in the workplace.
Colleagues can visit a stall on Thursday in HRI's main reception, where mental health nursing students from the University of Huddersfield will be available to discuss a free health and wellbeing goal-setting service. The service is called Get Set Goal and is available to all colleagues at CHFT. There will also be information about mental health at work.
At CRH, colleagues from paediatrics will be focussing on Tea and Talk to promote wellbeing and Hello Yellow for young people. There will be quizzes, wordsearches, a sweepstake and information. Plus a yellow treasure-hunt, with colleagues encouraged to wear something yellow for the day.
Consultant Nurse for Mental Health, Ian Noonan, said: "Talking about our mental health can help us cope better with life’s ups and downs. So, on World Mental Health Day and beyond it, why not check in with your friends, family, peers, or colleagues?"
A reminder that if you have concerns about your mental wellbeing at work you can call VivUp on 0800 023 9324. VivUp is the Trust's 24/7, 365 days a year counselling, advice and information service. If you are supporting a colleague experiencing a mental health crisis, please follow the guidance provided by CHFT Staff Psychologist, Dr Beckie Yates, available here: https://cht.pagetiger.com/cgshkz/1. There are a few resources below to help you spot the signs of burnout and how to prioritise self-care if you are experiencing burnout.
