Today our new Integrated Flow Hub (IFH) has opened for patients.
The new IFH will play a key role in improving patient flow and easing pressure throughout the hospital. It brings some key teams together for the first time in one place, including our stakeholders in the community. The aim is to streamline processes and reduce pressure on our A&E - giving the clinical team oversight on everything happening operationally that affects the running of HRI.
Director of Operations for Resilience, Acute Flow and Transformation, Gemma Berriman, said "The new Hub will eventually transform the way we manage flow throughout HRI, with teams able to collaborate and make decisions much more quickly. The new Digital Command Centre will constantly display the all-important stats we need to support decision making. And having a dedicated space means we can hold multi-disciplinary team (MDT) meetings and make decisions as a team.
"Whilst it has been a mammoth task, everyone has seen the benefits of the new Hub and has got behind it, despite having day jobs to do. Thanks to everyone for all their work to get us here, including our CHS colleagues from cleaning services and estates, and to colleagues in The Health Informatics Service for getting us connected."
The IFH will be home to:
- The Clinical Site Team
- The Discharge Lounge (contact them as early as possible in the day, Monday to Friday between 07:00 and 19:30, Call 07379 061905)
- Frailty Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC)
- Medical SDEC
- Acute Response Team
There are also flexible spaces within the Hub to support demand.
