Our dietetics team have introduced a Team Angel Award as a way of showing how much they value and appreciate each member of the team, and this time around Dietetic Assistant Practitioner, Shamila Tufail, is the winner.
The team hold the Awards twice a year and put in nominations over the course of six months. This can range from simply caring enough to make someone a cup of tea during a busy spell, to helping out with bigger projects or training sessions.
Shamila's colleagues nominated her for a number of reasons, including organising and presenting at the Nutrition Study Day, for helping her colleagues with discharges, for supporting new starters in the team and for volunteering to run the team's stall at the Halifax Food Gathering event.
After she was presented with a certificate and the Angel Trophy, Shamila said: "I felt honoured and truly grateful for the recognition and will continue to strive for excellence in my role. Many thanks to my amazing dietetic team at CRH and HRI for bestowing me with this special Award."
Speaking about the Angel Awards, Clinical Lead Dietitian for Stroke, Faye Heywood, said: "It's been a nice morale booster. Even though we express gratitude on a day-to-day basis, these nominations highlight how lucky we are to have a lovely and caring team."
