Section 51 The Medicine Code - Suspected Diversion/Misuse of Medicines by a Member of Staff
A number of amendments have been made, including how we support colleagues:
- Throughout the investigation One Culture of Care principles and wellbeing support must be adhered to in the care of staff involved in suspected theft of medicines and other staff that are witnesses in the investigation
- Consideration must be given to create a ‘safe space’ for staff involved to discuss issues that are impacting on their work/wellbeing/safety/patient safety.
Appendix 1 – replaced with British Heart Rhythm Society (BHRS) approved flow chart. Appendix 2 – BHRS approved consent form added. Appendix 3 replaced by Appendix 2 – updated to conform with BHRS guidance January 2024.
