Colleagues from the Orthopaedics team have recently completed the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge. The group of five took on the challenge to fundraise to improve the children's facilities in the orthopaedic department.

They completed the 24.5 mile route on Saturday, 7th September which included the three peaks, Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough.  Colleagues Jane Cash, Stacey Bywater, Sahlee Cantoja, Guy McWilliams and Nikki Holmes took on the climb, which totalled a 5,200ft ascent.

Clinical Support Worker, Stacey Bywater, organised the event and said: "I wanted to be able to provide a good environment for children who come to the department for sometimes difficult consultations."

The team are pictured at the summit if the final peak, Ingleborough. Their incredible efforts have seen them raise more than £1,000 so far.

Orthopaedic Sister, Jane Cash, said: "I could not have done this walk with better people - their determination, enthusiasm and sense of achievement at each peak was infectious and I left the walk tired but elated!"
