Frontline colleagues will be able to get their covid and flu vaccines at a series of drop-in clinics to be held in October.

And we now have a wealth of resources to help promote the vaccine clinics, thanks to Pharmacy Stores Distribution Manager Clare Griffiths, Occupational Therapist Laura Crowther and MRI Radiography Helper Harpreet Kaur. All three volunteered to be the stars of NHS England’s national staff vaccination campaign, which includes having their picture on posters and other promotional materials displayed in healthcare settings across the country.

Our drop-in vaccine clinics will run at both HRI and CRH from Monday, 7th October until Thursday, 31st October 2024. Further details, including the exact locations and opening times of these clinics will be shared with colleagues soon.

Harpreet said: "Being part of the NHS, I realise the value of reaching out to the community and those around me to understand the importance of getting the winter vaccine.  I wanted to spread the message that getting the winter vaccine not only protects you from the flu and other common viruses, but it also helps protects the people and community around you. It is a great way you can contribute to good health in your community."

Clare said: "I’ve always been a strong believer in vaccines, which has been instilled in me by my parents. It’s important as frontline workers to take the offer up for vaccines not only to protect ourselves but to protect our patients, work colleagues and of course our family and friends. So why not promote it out loud!"

Laura said: "I volunteered for this because I think that Occupational Therapy is not an Allied Health Profession which is well known or understood, so I felt this was a good opportunity to try and increase awareness of our profession, as well as encourage colleagues to have their vaccinations."
