Our new Park and Ride service for colleagues affected by the CRH car park closure has been running for four weeks. Thanks to colleague feedback, we have reviewed the routes and timetables and are putting in place some significant changes from next Tuesday 27th August (the current timetables will continue for the rest of this week).
The timetables are available on our intranet and colleagues can also access them away from work by looking on the Working for Us pages of our website.
Cedar Court to CRH
There will be a dedicated bus from Cedar Court to CRH over the morning peak times. It will not be part of the HRI to CRH shuttle. The return trip will continue to be by request only as part of the normal shuttle bus service.
HRI to CRH shuttle
These buses will no longer stop at Cedar Court and will go directly to CRH. There will still be four shuttle buses per hour at peak times from HRI to CRH.
Halifax Park and Ride car parks
The buses will no longer travel in a loop with multiple stops. Instead, there will be two direct bus routes to CRH. One from the Eureka! Overflow car park and one from the High Street car park. This should make it easier to interpret the timetables.
Savile Park Moor
There will no longer be a stop at Savile Park Moor.
We’ve trialled this service over the past four weeks. We've found that due to the volume of cars now parking around the Moor, there is no safe place for the bus to pull over.
The Council have told us there are no plans for pay and display parking around the Moor, however a small number of short stay parking spaces will soon be added near New Lodge Fisheries to support their customers.
There will also be line marking added soon around junctions and increased enforcement in the area. If you do park at the Moor, please do so safely and considerately to avoid a potential fine.
There is still the option to park on the Moor and walk down to CRH, or use our Eureka! Overflow or High Street car parks.

Deputy Chief Executive, Rob Aitchison, said: ”Thank you to every single colleague who has shared their feedback with us. It’s been important in these early weeks as we start to understand how colleagues will use the service. We will continue to review the feedback daily through September, as schools return and we see higher levels of use by colleagues.
“I'd like to thank colleagues for their flexibility and understanding. We're committed to making this the best possible service we can."
