Thanks to generous donations given to CHFT's Charity, a wellbeing bench has now been placed outside the main entrance to the Surgical Day Procedure Unit on South Drive at HRI.

The bench was requested by the day surgery as a means to provide people with a space to take a moment to pause and to have a break if needed.

Theatre Orderly, Tahir Yaqoob, was amongst the first to try out the new bench after it was officially secured down last week. He now wants to spread awareness about the importance of taking some time for yourself outdoors. He said: "It's all about looking after patients, visitors and our colleagues. Creating a safe space like this, where people can have a breather is important and there's nothing better than getting some fresh air for both our mental and physical health. I'm looking forward to seeing the bench being used!"

The bench is available to be used by anyone, and thanks to its sheltered location, taking a moment for yourself can be done anytime of the year.
