Colleagues in our eye clinics at CRH and Acre Mills are coming together to celebrate the Olympics, but with a twist.
Following the Summer of Sport competition launched by our Workforce and OD Teams, Healthcare Assistant, Sarah Uttley, and Sister, Karen Lockwood, came up with the idea of a summer of team building, based on some of the countries taking part in this summers’ Games.
Sarah, pictured by the door representing Turkey, said: “As some colleagues aren’t as sporty as others, we thought it would be an alternative to kicking a ball or getting our tennis whites on. It was also an ideal opportunity for some team bonding.
“So we paired colleagues up with others they don’t normally work with and gave them a country and carte blanche to dress up the clinic room doors.
“Colleagues have got behind it and have been chipping in with their own ideas. I often hear our patients commenting on them too, especially as there are lots of interesting facts or figures by country.”
In our Summer of Sport, colleagues can celebrate the Olympic and Paralympic games and win prizes for themselves and their team.
Ophthalmology Technician, Christine Holmes, and Staff Nurse, Sunny Ellar, are the duo behind the Turkey door design.
