Here's Omaima Yaqoob, left, collecting her Ramadan Fasting Pack from Race and Inclusion Engagement Partner, Tegan Joseph, last week.
Fasting plays an important role in many major religions and is a central feature in all the Abrahamic faiths. In Islam, adult Muslims, who are able to, are required to fast during the month of Ramadan.
The packs have been provided following feedback to the Race Equality Network. See more information on the intranet.
Colleagues celebrating Ramadan can collect their packs, which include water, prayers and other information, from the learning centres at both hospitals.
There is guidance for managers on how to support colleagues on the NHS Employers website.
The holy month of Ramadan for our Muslim colleagues began on Wednesday 22nd March and will end on Thursday 20th April with the celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr.
