The Finance Team have taken the title back at an annual quiz, thanks to the brain power of Deputy Director of Finance, Kirsty Archer.

Every year colleagues from Finance take part in the pub-style quiz run by the Healthcare Financial Management Association.

This year the team was made up of Senior Finance Manager Paul Cornish, Kirsty, Finance Manager Adam Rowbottom, Senior Finance Manager Michael Wescott and Assistant Service Improvement Manager Colin Duffield, who all travelled to Yorkshire Sculpture Park to represent CHFT.

Paul said: “It’s an opportunity every year to have a bit of fun and network with finance staff at seven other NHS Trusts.

“It was pretty close toward the end. The last round was based on Who Wants to be a Millionaire, and we got to question 11 of 12. It was Kirsty’s knowledge of Japanese fashion that saw us pip everyone else to the post.”

Kirsty said: "The question was; What is an Obi in traditional Japanese dress? The answer is a sash or belt. Obviously because I’m a fashion guru I got that one!

"I would equally say that the win hinged on Michael Wescott knowing that a Vexillilologist was someone who studies flags.  Who knows why Michael knew that, but he is a mine of such general knowledge and always the first pick on our quiz team."
