Colleagues in Infection Prevention and Control are remembering their colleague, Sonia Lodge, who died suddenly earlier this month.

Sonia was a well-respected colleague within the IPC team and had worked there for two years but has been with the Trust since 2009. She transferred from The Mid Yorkshire Teaching Trust to work on the Acute Floor at CRH, before moving to become a Sister on the Stroke floor.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, Sonia worked on The Relatives' Line, and she and the team were shortlisted for a Nursing Times Award in 2021 in the HRH Integrated Approach to Care Award.

IPC Matron Lead, Belinda Russell, said: "Sonia was well-liked and was known for her kindness and compassion. She will be missed within our team and across the Trust in the areas she supported."

Sonia's funeral is being held this coming Wednesday, 31st July at 13:15 at Huddersfield Crematorium. Her family have requested that no black is to be worn and for attendees to instead wear colour to represent the love for colour Sonia had. Family flowers only and a collection will be taken in aid of Macmillan, as this was a charity Sonia supported.
