Friends and colleagues of former Healthcare Assistant, Kerry Sanderson, who worked on Ward 20 at HRI, now have a quiet space to reflect following her unexpected death in 2022.

She was loved by all her colleagues, and they worked together with her husband to raise funds and have dedicated a bench in our new wellbeing garden in her honour.

Kerry's husband, Craig (pictured sat on the bench), supported the fundraising for the bench and attended the small ceremony Ward 20 organised when the bench was put in place. Some of Kerry's family also attended the event.

Ward Manager, Amy Scholes (pictured far right), said: "We miss Kerry but will always remember her with happiness, especially now we have a space to retreat to.

"Colleagues on Ward 20 have been enjoying using the wellbeing garden for 5 to10 minute time-outs when required. It's a wonderful space to have a little reset."

Ward 20 also recently lost colleagues Jean and Grace and are fundraising to get another bench in the garden dedicated to the two of them.
