Newly-appointed Freedom to Speak Up Guardian, Caroline Lane, is settling into her new role after saying goodbye to her colleagues in Community, where she was Head Nurse. She is working in a job share alongside fellow Guardian, Carol Gregson.

Next year will mark 40 years of service in the NHS for Caroline. During that time, she has seen many changes in both our hospitals and within community, but what has always remained is her passion for ensuring patients' and colleagues' voices are heard.

Freedom to Speak Up enables us to improve patient safety, patient experience and the working conditions for our colleagues. Caroline said: "Carol and I are keen to meet with all teams to raise the importance of Freedom to Speak Up, so that colleagues at all levels within the Trust are encouraged and empowered to speak up."

You'll see Carol and Caroline across all bases over the next few weeks. If you would like to contact them to discuss the support they can provide, or invite them along to a team meeting, please call them:

  • Carol Gregson - 07442 821 120
  • Caroline Lane - 07442 802 938
