Sadly, one of our chaplains, Father Peter Nealon, died on Sunday 23rd June 2024 in St Gemma's Hospice, Leeds. 

Father Peter was appointed as our Roman Catholic Chaplain in 2005, taking on the role within his parish ministry. He was deeply committed to offering care and support to patients and their families, not only from the Roman Catholic community but always willing to support anyone in need, whether Sacraments and prayers or simply a listening ear. He was a valued member of the chaplaincy team, passionate about his ministry and supported the team with wisdom and kindness. He will be greatly missed.

Our Lead Chaplain, Sue Naughton, has asked us to share the Prayer of Our Faithful Departed:

"Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen."

Arrangements

Tuesday 16th July, 6.30pm, Reception into Church of Fr Peter’s body and Mass at St Malachy’s Church, Nursery Lane, Halifax HX3 5NS followed by light refreshments in the Church Hall.

Wednesday 17th July, 12 noon, Requiem Mass for Fr Peter also at St Malachy’s Church.

The burial will take place at Queensbury Cemetery followed by refreshments (details of the venue to be decided).
