Colleagues from across eight NHS trusts (including Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust), primary and community organisations, came together on 21 June to attend the second 'Care of the Vascular Patient Learning Event', hosted by the West Yorkshire Vascular Service (WYVaS) and the Sheffield Vascular Institute.

More than 70 members of staff attended, with representation from nursing, AHP, medical, radiology, theatre, pre-assessment, and community services.

Colleagues were joined by regional and national speakers including Rachel Bell, Consultant Vascular Surgeon and GIRFT Lead for Vascular Surgery, who presented on AAA screening and management. Sheeba Jefferson, Deputy Nurse Director for South Yorkshire Regional Services closed the event, which attendees described as ‘empowering’, ‘evidenced-based’ and ‘inspiring’.

The day encouraged colleagues to learn new skills and explore different ways of working from peers across different trusts.
