We recently asked colleagues for their help to support our financial recovery for this year. We are forecasting a £40million deficit for 2024/25, even after making £25million of efficiency savings.
Alongside the recruitment freeze, we are now focusing on how we can all play a part in reducing non-essential, non-pay expenditure.
From Saturday, 1st June there will be restrictions on many non-pay items purchased to help us reduce costs – read more below.
If you have any further ideas to support our financial recovery, please talk to your manager, your senior team, or send an email to chft@cht.nhs.uk
We can do this by working together, and we thank you for your ongoing support.
What type of spend will be blocked and who do I contact to make a request?
From 1st June, the iProc system will no longer display or allow you to order NHS Supply Chain non-clinical products or Amazon products in the categories below.
Standard clinical products will not be affected, although our Procurement Team may contact you to understand if the suggested product is the correct product/alternative.
They will also monitor expenses and purchasing cards.
If you need to purchase items from this list, please email buyingteam@cht.nhs.uk and a member of the team will be in touch to talk you through your request and what happens next.
