Following a validation visit last Friday from HIMSS (Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society) - global advisors around all things digital and data, CHFT has been awarded HIMSS Stage 6 for its use of data against the Adoption Model for Analytics Maturity (AMAM).

No other trust or hospital has achieved level 6 (on a scale of 0-7) AMAM within the UK or Europe, so this truly is recognition of the hard work and team approach across CHFT, from our Business Intelligence teams who led the validation visit, to our operational and clinical colleagues who supported the day.

HIMSS aren’t just interested in how a system has been implemented, they want to understand how well embedded it is in the organisation, and how the data is used.

The team spent time listening to colleagues from our Business Intelligence Team who explained the data we collect and how we process it.

They also visited our surgical offices and the Acute Floor to hear from colleagues about the day-to-day use of data and how it helps us reconfigure services and pathways to improve patient experience.

Chief Digital and Information Officer, Rob Birkett, pictured sixth from the left, said: “This is a fantastic achievement showcasing the importance of our approach to data science in a modern acute and community healthcare setting, as well as across the system and partners.

“A huge congratulations, well done and thank you, to all those not only involved on the day, but also for the support, hard work and commitment over a number of years building up to this.

“It’s a brilliant achievement and recognition for everyone’s dedication.”
