Enormous congratulations to Apprentice Admin, Eleanor Ward, who has won the Employer's Choice Award for Apprentice of the Year.

Eleanor has only been working as part of the Radiology PACS Team for eight months, but has made a massive impact during that time. Particularly on PACS Admin Manager, Ann Fryer, who nominated Eleanor and said: "From day one Eleanor showed initiative, ambition and a great attitude to work and college. She is a caring, thoughtful young lady who works to high standards. Her role is important, ensuring patients receive their appointments in a timely manner and she always shows empathy to our patients. She's an asset to Radiology, not only today but in the future. She is definitely a rising star.

Ann wrote in her nomination: "What is a model apprentice? Eleanor. Who would you want in your team as an apprentice? Eleanor. Everyone should have an Eleanor in their team. There are insufficient words in the dictionary to describe her."

After finding out she won, Eleanor said: "Winning this award has been surreal - I still cannot believe it and am so grateful to have been nominated.

"Despite having been with CHFT for only eight months, I have learned so much since being here, which couldn’t have been done without the help from my manager and colleagues. My achievement is essentially their achievement, with the amount of support they have provided me."

To celebrate winning, Eleanor has been invited to Calderdale College's Inspire Awards Evening in July.
