We’re wishing Roman Catholic Chaplain Reverend Andrew Phillips well, as he prepares to retire from his role after 17 years at CHFT this coming Sunday.

Andrew said: “Looking back over that time, both as a volunteer and a colleague, it's been a wonderful time. I have had the privilege of being there for the patients, in the various stages of their health, to support their family and friends, and to be with colleagues in the care of others. To the staff I would like to say a big thank you for their help and support, and with all the laughs we have shared along the way.

“It's now my time to retire and start a new chapter of my life. It will be good to spend some time with my wife, who is also retiring this summer, and I have many plans on what I want to achieve in my retirement by helping others in the community, and to promote a special devotion across our Diocese. God bless you all.”

Lead Chaplain, Sue Naughton, said: "I would like to thank Andrew for his role within the chaplaincy and supporting not only Roman Catholic patients, families and colleagues, but many others too. He has been available to respond to those in need of pastoral and spiritual care and support, whether simply a listening ear, or responding to urgent referrals, being available to support those in need and offer comfort and peace. I wish Andrew all the very best for the future and a happy and blessed retirement."
