CHFT News - New ReSPECT form in Cerner EPR will save clinicians time

The Recommended Summary Plan for Emergency Care and Treatment (ReSPECT) moves to an exciting new stage soon, as it will be streamlined into an electronic form in EPR, saving time for colleagues and keeping vital patient information up to date.

CRH Lead Nurse, Stacey Wilkinson, said: “The new process will be in EPR from Wednesday, 24th April.

“At the moment, the process is long-winded, as colleagues have to add a flag into EPR and DNACPR forms are completed on paper. This makes it difficult if they are mislaid when patients are transferred to different areas, meaning clinicians need to complete a new form.

“The new process brings it all into EPR, reducing the number of steps needed, as well as making sure there is a continuity of care for patients.”

As well as doing some ward walks before the launch to show clinicians how to access the plans, Stacey has set up some Microsoft Teams demo sessions, so as many colleagues as possible can get involved.
