The Rheumatology Team recently took delivery of a new ultrasound machine.
This new unit is a significant upgrade to the older system allowing newer technologies to detect early inflammation changes in microcirculation (circulation of the blood in the smallest blood vessels).
It helps in the diagnosis and monitoring of whole spectrum of inflammatory arthritis, supporting early diagnosis and improved treatments, resulting in improved patient experience and satisfaction.
It is used for two dedicated ultrasound clinics a week, and also used in rheumatology clinics assessing new and follow up patients.
