Theatre Sister, Stef Gee, is planning to volunteer this summer working for Mercy Ships, a non-profit organisation which organises life-saving operations for people who have no access to healthcare. She is hoping to fundraise for this with a Bake-Off Competition this coming Thursday.

Stef will be volunteering on the ship Africa Mercy. It's an entire floating hospital and will be docked in Madagascar. Included on the ship is an operating theatre where Stef will be based, helping perform surgery on paediatric orthopaedic patients for four weeks.

She said: "The whole reason I went into nursing in the first place was to help people in need. This opportunity will help me to provide for people who are the most in need."

To help raise money for her trip, Stef is holding a Bake-Off Competition on Thursday, 28th March at 12:30pm in CRH Main Theatres. The competition is open for anyone who would like to get involved and there is a prize for the winner. After the cakes have been judged and the winner announced, the cakes will be available to buy, and the funds will be put towards Stef's fundraising appeal.
