NEW - NATSSIPs and LOCSSIPs Policy

New guidance and principles to be followed for the development and implementation of National and Local patient safety standards for invasive procedures (NatSSIPs and LocSSIPs) to ensure safe care is delivered to patients undergoing invasive procedures.

They start at the point at which a patient is admitted to the procedure area and end at the point at which the patient is discharged from the procedure area.

The policy includes useful appendices, such as the procedure characteristics to help decide whether a procedure is minor or major, and which checks need to happen for each.
