From this coming Wednesday, 27th March, where we have a mobile phone contact number for patients, they will receive their digital appointment letter and reminder texts from a new number. This is part of our work to introduce a new CHFT patient portal provided by DrDoctor.

What do I need to know or do?

  • Please make a note of the number which is 07860 039092. Please reassure patients that this number and any correspondence they may see from DrDoctor is genuine
  • If your patients attend regular outpatient appointments, they can save it a contact in their mobile phone contacts list
  • If patients do not access their information digitally, they will still receive a paper copy of their letter
  • If you currently use Envoy to send appointment letters or text messages, you must not use it after Sunday, 31st March. If you need more information, please contact kimberley.scholes@cht.nhs.uk or claire.sibbald4@cht.nhs.uk

Colleagues have asked why the text can’t come from CHFT directly. It’s a really good shout, but as patients need to be able to reply to either accept or decline their appointment, it needs to be sent from a telephone number.

Raising issues once DrDoctor is live from Wednesday

We will be having twice-daily touchpoint meetings to understand if there are any issues arising from the changes. The meetings will take place for around two to three weeks, on weekdays (except bank holidays).

You can help us by logging any issues you come across on our quick form https://forms.office.com/e/ta8txBwFmK
