Meet our new CHS Health and Safety champions – primed and ready to be the first point of contact for Health and Safety issues at CHS.

The group of 10 were pictured at their recent training events. Maintenance supervisor at HRI, Steve Rich, (pictured second from right in the bottom image) said: “I’ve always been interested in health and safety and jumped at the chance to become a champion.

“It’s important that anyone who spots an issue can speak up to a colleague swiftly to allow to us act quickly. Anyone who has a health and safety question, or issue can always come to me or any other champion.

“The goodie bag of books, sweets, high-vis jackets and health and safety lanyard were also appreciated!”

Our champions will be a first point of contact for health and safety issues, promote the use of PPE, perform quarterly audits, initial incident investigation, DATIX compiling and feed into the CHS Health and Safety Advisor, Jordan Williams.  

Jordan said: “Our champions play a vital role in creating a safe, compliant, and positive work environment. Their efforts can lead to improved employee wellbeing, cost savings, legal protection, and a stronger company culture focused on safety.
